Scarecrow Costume:
Step 1: Apply Foundation and Eye Makeup
To create this scarecrow makeup, start by applying matte foundation and concealer to even out skin tone and brighten up the face.
Next, define and fill in the brows, and apply the white shade “cockatoo” from the “Bird of Paradise” Eyeshadow Palette all over the eyelid as an eyeshadow base.
To get started on the eyes, first apply the yellow shade “canary” on the eyelid and blend it out with a fluffy eyeshadow brush.
Next, apply the orange eyeshadow shade “tocan” in the crease and blend it out using windshield wiper motions.
Continue blending until it seamlessly meets where the yellow eyeshadow is.
Step 2 – Add Sparkle and Drama to the Eyes
Use your fingers and apply the shimmer shade “fiesta” all over the eyelid and on the inner tear duct to brighten up the eyes.
Use an angled eyeliner brush and apply black eyeliner to create a dramatic winged look on both eyes.
Step 3 – Add Colorful Cheeks and Nose
Next use a small round brush to add the orange “tocan” eyeshadow shade to the apples of the cheeks as a blush.
Blend upward towards the temples and build product up so that the cheekbones are distinctively defined like that of a doll or scarecrow.
Next use a fluffy eyeshadow brush and apply the yellow “canary” eyeshadow shade to the tip of the nose.
Use a small detailing brush and black face paint to create an outline around the yellow and to draw on stitches.
Tip: For all your stitches, I recommend alternating between lines and x’s for variation.
Step 4 – Add Scarecrow Stitching, Mascara, and Lipstick
For an authentic scarecrow makeup look, continue using a small detail brush and black face paint to add additional stitching on the forehead, around the mouth, and under the eyes.
I ended up adding a stitch above my eyebrow, small stitching underneath both eyes, and created cute + colorful patchwork detailing on the forehead and neck.
To create the patchwork stitching, first draw two squares on the forehead (one large above, one small below) using black face paint, and then fill in with the yellow eyeshadow shade “canary” and orange eyeshadow shade “tocan”.
Next, add stitching around it and repeat on your neck, if desired.
Step 5 – Complete Your Scarecrow Costume
To turn this scarecrow makeup look into a full fledged scarecrow costume for Halloween, all you have to do is add aStraw Hat or Wide Brim Hat, throw on aPlaid Button Up TopandJeans or Overalls, and your favorite pair ofAnkle Boots.
I love that this Halloween costume is super simple to re-create with just a few items that most of us already own in our wardrobe.
You could also add some other fun details to this look such as straw ties in your hair or by adding a sunflower to your hat.
The possibilities are endless with making it your own, but I love that the basis of this scarecrow costume is very easy to create.
